Clerk of Works - Mechanical Corporate Landlord (15/2495)

Dumfries & Galloway Council are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and skilled Mechanical Clerk of Works with an electrical bias to be part of the Property, Estates and Programmes team.

This post is for 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, record and report the progress of electrical services works throughout the councils estate.
  • Interpret drawings, specification, and bills of quantities in both electronic and paper format.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, and manage contractor relationships to be firm but fair.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical works, processes, trades and techniques, and have sound knowledge of building and construction works, processes, trades and techniques.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical works, processes, trades and techniques is essential.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in a relevant role, experience of building/property maintenance, and substantial experience as Foreman/Chargehand on various construction projects.
  • A current driving licence is an essential requirement; if disability precludes driving, consideration will be given for alternative transport arrangements.
  • This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment.
  • Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years will require a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries of residence in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
