Job Title: Site Inspector

We are seeking an experienced and competent Site Inspector to support our project delivery teams and expand our Clerk of Works resource. The role covers Essex, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and Hampshire.

Responsibilities
  1. Visit the site at the agreed frequency, especially at critical construction phases.
  2. Ensure all construction elements comply with relevant regulations, Codes of Practice, British Standards, and Contract Documents, with particular attention to fire safety.
  3. Verify that all works, materials, and products conform to the Contract Specification and drawings.
  4. Report any defective works or non-compliance to site management, Contract Administrator, or Employer’s Agent.
  5. Monitor the contractor’s Programme, report delays or failures, and review Weather Reports.
  6. Inspect the NHBC Site Book for correct entries.
  7. Report any Health & Safety regulation breaches to the client.
  8. Participate in benchmark snagging exercises to set standards.
  9. Conduct pre-handover snagging and de-snagging inspections, including basic performance tests on services, and communicate issues to the contractor.
  10. Attend handover inspections and review handover documentation.
  11. Complete and submit Site Inspection Reports within deadlines.
  12. Perform End of Defect Inspections and follow-up on after-care issues.
  13. Undertake any other duties necessary to ensure proper inspection and communication of issues to the client.
  14. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to travel, and hold a full, clean driving license are required.
  15. Periodic attendance at the office is expected.
