Job description

30 hours per week. Hours of work are flexible, but Monday and Friday are fixed to provide cover.

Are you enthusiastic, positive, a team player, adaptable, and patient-focused administrator with good knowledge of all Microsoft packages? If so, we would like to hear from you!

We are seeking an experienced, confident, and self-motivated person who works to a high professional standard and is used to working on their own initiative. The ability to work accurately to deadlines and demonstrate effective time management is essential.

This role will support the Germ Cell service by recruiting patients to a shared community follow-up.

This role is very patient-focused, and you will be expected to meet patients in the clinic, recruit them to the remote service, contact external teams, chase patient reports, accurately manage a database, and highlight any results to the medical team. You will coordinate patient appointments alongside their follow-up schedule to ensure all tests are completed.

If you feel this could be the role for you, please contact us for further information.

Interview date will be Thursday, 3rd July.

Expected Shortlisting Date: 26/06/2025

Planned Interview Date: 03/07/2025

Main duties of the job

Are you a competent administrator ready for a new challenge? Do you want to work in a role that can make a real difference to patients?

This role involves supporting the Germ Cell service. Recruiting patients means they do not need to attend the clinic regularly and can complete tests closer to home. You will collate results and send correspondence. You will meet patients in the clinic to outline the process and gather further information. Proficiency on the telephone is required, as you will need to contact other departments regularly. Using different systems, you will collate patient results and record them accurately in the database for clinicians to review and monitor.

All patients are on their own follow-up schedule, which will need to be uploaded to the database and then used to allocate appropriate appointments, ensuring certain tests and scans are requested, and handling general enquiries from patients.
