Job description

Job Title: Clerical Officer - Integrated Community Paediatrics Service

We are seeking two resilient, well-organized, and self-motivated clerical officers to support the Integrated Community Paediatrics Service at Breightmet Health Centre. The successful candidates will perform efficient administrative duties, demonstrating attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a positive problem-solving attitude.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Receiving and managing incoming referrals for appointments, ensuring timely processing before and after triage.
  2. Uploading or scanning referral copies into the EPR system.
  3. Scheduling appropriate appointments to meet national and local waiting time targets, reporting breaches immediately.
  4. Maintaining accurate appointment systems and patient information.
  5. Providing timely and accurate appointment information to patients.
  6. Observing personal duty of care regarding equipment and resources.
  7. Handling telephone inquiries courteously and efficiently, communicating actions to practitioners as needed.
  8. Liaising with managers and clinicians regarding appointment availability.
  9. Coordinating with Health Records to ensure notes are available for clinics.
  10. Scanning and saving clinical correspondence on the EPR system under correct codes.
  11. Supporting the service using LE2.2 and EPR systems.
  12. Being the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors at the children’s reception.
