Clerical Officer, Band 2

We are currently seeking a Part Time Clerical Officer to join our Oncology team at Cheltenham General Hospital.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week across 5 days Monday - Friday,

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and hardworking individual to join our very busy team in Oncology.

We require hard working individuals to join our team, delivering a smooth and efficient administration service to support Outpatient Services in Oncology for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful post holder will be working within a demanding but rewarding environment, as you will be contributing to the patients receiving their care.

You will ensure that necessary clinical paperwork is processed efficiently and support the preparation of clinics and medical notes.

Main duties of the job

- To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Oncology Department

- Assisting with the maintenance and filing/scanning of electronic and paper Oncology case notes within the various secretarial and admin offices in the department

- Accessing various hospital systems to retrieve results as required

- Entering patient data into the patient administration system (Trak) on a daily basis

- Preparing incoming and outgoing postal correspondence

- Returning and tracking of paper hospital notes to the appropriate department or hospital

- Assisting with typing tasks as required

- Conversing with patients/relatives over the telephone; this requires sensitivity as the post holder may be required to deal with people who have difficulty understanding the situation or who maybe aggressive and/or upset.

- Assisting with a variety of tasks to help the wider teams as required

-Provide relief admin cover for absences within the department as required

- Possess a flexible/adaptable approach to work in order to meet various deadlines across the dept.

Our friendly and hardworking administration team support the Outpatient Services in Oncology for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Oncology Department admin team is made up of Clerical Officer/Receptionists, Clerical Officers, Medical Secretaries, Booking Services who work as a team to support a large and busy cohort of clinical staff.

You will be an integral part of this hardworking team.

Qualifications
