Job summary

A large integrated health board in Cardiff is seeking a Clerical Officer - Apprentice to provide administrative support within the Cellular Pathology department. The role requires good communication and typing skills, along with an opportunity to earn a Digital Skills for Business qualification. Clerical Officer - Apprentice

The closing date is 14 August 2025

This post is fixed term for 15 months from start date due to apprenticeship contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our small, friendly team within the Cellular Pathology department. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this post. The role involves a full range of administrative and secretarial services to the Cellular Pathology Team in support of the effective delivery of services.

Main duties of the job

To undertake all clerical duties appropriate to the grade but mainly the input and issuing of patient details, Cellular Pathology reports and Post Mortem reports.

To attend regular review meetings with the supervisor and assessor, leading to an Apprenticeship Qualification in Digital Skills for Business Level 2.

This qualification consists of:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Digital Skills for Business (QCF)
  • Essential Skills - Application of Number (AON) Level 1 *
  • Foundation Apprenticeship in Digital Skills for Business

Please note if you are already degree qualified you will be ineligible to apply due to Welsh Government funding criteria on the level 2 qualification.
