Zusammenfassung

The Woodlands is seeking a Clerk/Clerical Assistant to join our team at Ferryhill. This permanent, term-time role is part-time (27.5 hours per week) and starts as soon as possible.

The post requires good numeracy, literacy and communication skills, with experience of school office systems preferred. Responsibilities include becoming the first point of contact, managing datalists and minute-taking, and maintaining records and stock.

Qualifikationen

  • 4 GCSEs (A-C) including Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Good numeracy, financial and literacy skills.
  • Good level of verbal and written communication.

Aufgaben

  • Being the first point of contact for the school, welcoming visitors and parents to the school and answering telephone calls, post etc.
  • Operating Arbor and CPOMS and other internal systems.
  • Support the Business Manager, maintain procedures and documentation. Including but not exclusively, pupil records and attendance registers.
  • Liaising with kitchen staff, lunch time supervisory assistants, caretaker and cleaners including the reporting of and monitoring repairs to fabric and equipment.
  • Producing minutes of staff meetings and briefings and taking minutes in special circumstances to ensure full records are kept of all such meetings.
  • Ensuring all database systems used within the school are kept up to date and current to ensure contact can be made when necessary with all members of staff and pupils.
  • Managing, distributing and checking yearly indemnity forms, following up any none returns.
  • Maintaining stock/asset registers for the school and managing annual stock checks.
  • Overseeing children’s illnesses and accidents, inform parents and staff as appropriate ensure that records are kept.
  • To attend any training courses relevant to the post, ensuring continuing personal and professional development.
  • Providing appropriate help throughout the day including break and lunchtime monitoring and pre/post school activities as necessary.
  • Maintaining accident records as required.
  • The post holder may undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the post.

The Woodlands wish to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic Clerical Assistant.

The candidate should have good numeracy, financial and literacy skills, with a good level of verbal and written communication skills. 4 GCSEs (A-C) including Maths and English or equivalent, use of Arbor, Cpoms and school office experience would be beneficial.

Listed below are the responsibilities this role will be primarily responsible for:

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
Number of 'teaching' weeks - 38 weeks; plus
Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)

Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:

Calculation for employees with less than 5 years' service:
38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Calculation for employees with more than 5 years' service:
38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
