Job Purpose:

Location: Royal Cornhill Hospital, Cornhill Road, Aberdeen

Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month's salary payment.

Job purpose/about the role

To be part of a team required to carry out a range of administrative and clerical functions needed to support the provision of an effective and efficient frontline and support service to the Mental Health Social Work teams.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
  • Educated to Standard Grade level or equivalent
  • A recognised certificate (E.g. ECDL, RSA or Scotvec) Text Processing or Equivalent
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
  • Working in a busy office environment
  • Working as an effective part of a team with a minimum supervision
  • Using a variety of Microsoft Packages
  • General administrative procedures
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people, including vulnerable adults with mental health issues
  • Organising and prioritising workloads to tight deadlines
  • Use of own initiative with the ability to make judgement on referrals to Line Management
