A local council in Scotland is looking for an enthusiastic clerical assistant to support Peel Primary School and Eliburn Nursery in Livingston. The role requires good communication skills and a passion for teamwork. 25 hrs per week, 39 weeks per year - Fixed Term until 13 April 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our learning community within Peel Primary School. Peel Primary School and Eliburn Nursery cater for Nursery to P7 students, located in the Eliburn area of Livingston, and are part of the Inveralmond Learning Community. The school strives to provide an inclusive and nurturing environment for children and families. The school currently has a roll of 430 pupils across 14 classes, with 65 children in the nursery, housed in a separate building. The staff team includes the Head Teacher, DHT, PT, teaching, and non-teaching staff, all working together to support learners. Parents are actively engaged in school life and provide feedback to help improve the school. The school’s free breakfast club is well attended.
We are seeking an enthusiastic clerical assistant to support both the school and nursery. Good communication skills are essential, and you should enjoy working as part of a team. The post holder will collaborate with all stakeholders within Peel Primary School to ensure a high-quality student experience.
This position is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by West Lothian Council.
