Job summary

Coventry City Council's Streetpride Service is recruiting for street cleansing and grounds maintenance roles. You will join a team delivering a 7-day cleansing service, supporting parks and open spaces, and helping keep the city clean and safe.

Ideal candidates are reliable, physically fit, with a practical attitude and a focus on safety and customer service. A Category B licence is required, with flexible shifts across the week.

Qualifications

• Be reliable and committed.
• Physically fit for walking long distances and working in all weather.
• Able to carry out labouring tasks with bending, pulling and lifting.
• Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace (PPE).
• Able to operate basic hand and power tools.
• Category B manual driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep streets and empty bins as part of daily duties.
• Litter-pick grassed areas and remove detritus.
• Maintain grounds of highways verges, parks and open spaces.
• Assist in the use of power tools like strimmers and cutters.
• Signpost and support residents while upholding customer service standards.
