Overview

We’re currently recruiting for a Cleaning Technician to join a well-established housing contractor, delivering cleaning and caretaking services across communal areas, sheltered housing schemes, and offices in the Herefordshire area. This is a key role focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation to ensure a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The Cleaning Technician will receive:

  • A supportive team
  • 3 month full time contract
Responsibilities
  • Carry out cleaning duties in internal and external communal areas, including entrances, stairs, corridors, lifts, windows, bin rooms, and tenant areas
  • Undertake tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, polishing, dusting, and litter removal
  • Complete daily and weekly checks, including compliance checks on fire alarms and emergency lights
  • Report repairs, hazards, or health and safety issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor
  • Remove small-scale graffiti, litter, sacks, and refuse from communal areas and surrounding grounds
  • Maintain cleanliness of specialist housing and offices, including toilets, kitchens, canteens, meeting rooms, and reception areas
  • Work flexibly to cover different sites as required, ensuring high cleaning standards are consistently met
Qualifications and experience
  • Previous cleaning experience, ideally in housing, offices, or communal buildings
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety in a cleaning environment, including safe use of equipment and materials
  • Ability to clean to the standards set by management and respond effectively to instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites and meet varying deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable)
  • This post requires a Basic DBS check
