Job summary

Malvern College is seeking a Cleaning Team Leader to join the Domestic Operations team. You will lead a small team, ensure cleaning standards across the College, and contribute to a safe, well-maintained campus.

This permanent, part-time role involves 30 hours per week across five days, with some weekend work and time off in lieu. You will perform daily cleaning duties in classrooms, offices, boarding houses and bedrooms and monitor performance.

• Previous experience in a cleaning environment would be desirable.
• A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices within a cleaning environment.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• A professional, polite and approachable manner.
• Good time management skills and flexibility in working hours.

Responsibilities

• Providing guidance and ensuring tasks are completed to the required standards and within agreed timeframes.
• Responding to operational priorities.
• Carrying out quality checks and monitoring cleaning performance, addressing any issues promptly.
• Reporting defects, maintenance issues or health and safety concerns, ensuring appropriate follow-up action is taken.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, safe working practices and COSHH requirements.
• Maintaining stock control and ensuring equipment and cleaning materials are used correctly and safely.
• You will also be required to undertake cleaning duties on a daily basis, including but not limited to, classrooms, offices, boarding houses and bedrooms.

• Maintaining stock control and ensuring equipment and cleaning materials are used correctly and safely.

You will also be required to undertake cleaning duties on a daily basis, including but not limited to, classrooms, offices, boarding houses and bedrooms.

This is a multi-site role, primarily working at Malvern College. You may be required to work at The Downs Malvern, on occasions.

The hours of work will be:

• 30 hours per week, 52 weeks a year
• As this is 5 days over 7, flexibility is required and will include occasional weekend working.
• Where weekend work is required, time off in lieu will be provided during the week or paid at the flat rate.
