Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council invites applications for a part-time Cleaning Supervisor position at Cathkin High School, Cambuslang. The role combines cleaning duties (7.5 hours) with supervising a team of Facility Assistants across a 15-hour week during term-time, with a pattern of Monday to Tuesday 4pm–7pm and Wednesday to Friday 3:30pm–6:30pm.

You will monitor cleaning standards, ensure COSHH compliance, set up rooms for lets, and act as on-site key-holder for health and safety reporting.

Location: Cathkin High School, Langlea Road, Cambuslang, G72 8ES

Hours: 15 hours per week on a term time basis (You will work 7.5 hours as Cleaner and 7.5 hours as Cleaning Supervisor)

Work Pattern: Monday an Tuesday 4pm - 7pm and Wednesday - Friday 3.30pm to 6.30pm

Hourly Rate: £13.80 per hour (Cleaner rate) and £14.12 - £14.27 per hour (Cleaning Supervisor rate)

The successful candidate will carry out the cleaning function on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls etc. You will also be required to monitor standards of cleaning in line with specification/COSHH regulation, reporting any difficult issues to management.

You will be responsible for setting up rooms for lets and being the responsible person on site for reporting health and safety issues.

Supervision of a team of Facility Assistants (Cleaning), including assisting with training; recruitment & selection; maximising attendance; team brief etc.

To carry out the cleaning function on floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls.

To ensure the security of the building is maintained, and act as a key-holder as required.

Monitor standards of cleaning in line with specification/COSHH regulations, reporting any difficult issues to management.
