Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Supervisor to lead a warehouse cleaning and waste team. You will supervise cleaning equipment, manage chemicals, and ensure adherence to operational guidelines.

Duties include daily and weekly machinery checks, reporting faults to the Site Manager, and maintaining Health & Safety standards. The role requires prior supervisor experience, strong customer focus, and the ability to prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Supervise/operate cleaning equipment and handling of chemicals according to guidelines.
• Carry out daily/weekly checks on machinery; report faults to the Site Manager.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance and liaise with the Site Manager during shifts.
• Assist with monitoring waste using weekly checklists and procedures.
• Undertake cleaning and ad-hoc duties as required, handle customer complaints.
• Attend training sessions and adhere to fire and safety regulations.

Job description

Salary: £15.13/ hour

Hours: 7.5 hours/ day or 35 hours/ week

Shift Pattern: 6 am to 2pm, 4 on / 2 off

Contract: Permanent

In your new role as Supervisor, you'll be working within a warehouse environment as part of our cleaning and waste team. You will supervise/operate specific equipment, cleaning practises and use of chemicals to the correct operational guidelines. Your duties will include carrying out daily and weekly checks of all machinery, reporting any faults to the Site Manager, ensuring that all Health & Safety is understood and adhered to, liaise with the Site Manager in shift operation, and help monitor the waste produced using the weekly checklists and monitoring procedures. All equipment will need to be reviewed, verifying that they are kept clean and equipment and materials are left secured when not in use. You will need to undertake any cleaning and ad-hoc duties according to the needs of the business, deal with customer complaints, attend appropriate training sessions, and ensure awareness of the Company/Client statutory fire and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have previous supervisor experience, good customer focus and service skills, the ability to prioritise workload effectively and good organisational skills. You should be able to work from your own initiative, have good awareness of Health and Safety legislation. Communicative English is essential, and you may be required to take an English language assessment. You will be required to complete the Basic Disclosure (DBS Check) and undertake a drug and alcohol screening test.
