Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a part-time Cleaning Supervisor to manage cleaning operations at Alloway Primary School, Ayr. The role is 20 hours per week with a pay rate of £11.96 per hour. You will lead a small team, ensure quality standards, and comply with safety and safeguarding policies.

Experience is preferred but training can be provided. You will work on site in Alloway, supporting a busy school environment and delivering reliable, professional cleaning services.

Location: Alloway Primary School, 16 Doonholm Road, Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland KA7 4QQ

Main Duties

• Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to allMitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevantSLAs, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
• Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Always maintain security – locking doors, following lost property procedures etc.

• Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
• Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used byMitie.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance.
• Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
• To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.

• To ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order, i.e. PAT Tested, etc.
• To have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning beat, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to the beat.
• To maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevant SLA's, carrying out all daily, weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• To have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used within the premises and to attend all necessary training to be enable to fulfil this requirement.
• To comply with the requirements of Health & Safety, other relevant legislation and premises policies.
• To sign in and out daily using the Signing-In Book, this must be an accurate record of the operatives Contracted hours and show the start time and finish time on a daily basis. In the event of a building being evacuated the Signing-In Book will be used as a checklist and headcount.
• To be aware of material expenditure and avoid unnecessary waste.
• To report any maintenance defects to the Facilities Manager
