Location: Peacehaven Community School, Greenwich Way, Peacehaven, East Sussex BN10 8RB
Salary: £10,920 per annum
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 15:00 - 18:30, 17.5 hours per week

What you'll do:
Required to undertake duties as directed and respond to reactive requests, providing best practice in all cleaning activities carried out to uphold company value at all times and to meet contractual deliverables.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Clean all areas of the school as directed by the Premises Manager, according to good cleaning principles and standards specified by EMCOR SLA & Cleaning Services Specification and Local Education Authority requirements.
- Operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment following training, instructions, and manufacturers' recommendations.
- Use cleaning products and materials as instructed and according to manufacturers' recommendations.
- Replenish consumables such as soap and toilet paper in toilets and activity areas as directed.
- Collect and dispose of waste from classrooms, activity areas, and toilets, and transfer to collection points for pick-up.
- During school closures, perform deep cleaning tasks including walls, doors, FFE, carpets, and floors, following manufacturer guidelines.
- Report repairs or maintenance needs to the Helpdesk or Premises Manager, including detached parts.
- Follow all health and safety policies, COSHH, and other relevant procedures.
- Assist in cleaning other areas during staff shortages or as directed.
- Perform emergency cleaning duties as required due to accidents, sickness, or vandalism.
- Carry out cleaning where health hazards exist, using PPE as identified in risk assessments.
- Maintain security and confidentiality as instructed.
- Perform additional duties within your skill level, including deputising for other roles, collecting/delivering goods, etc., including working extra hours if needed.
Holidays are to be taken during school term breaks.
Person Specification
Who you'll be:
- Experience in workplace cleaning is advantageous.
- Good time management skills.
- Experience in customer service.
- Methodical and meticulous work approach.
- Ability to read and speak English to ensure safe working practices.
