SALARY: £24,960 per annum (Actual salary £1,248 per annum)

HOURS: 2hours per week, Wednesday 10am - 12pm

Cleaning Operative

Purpose of the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities Management division of Bristol Waste Company as a Cleaning Operative. P roviding a high-standard cleaning service for our designated customers, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment in various locations across Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

Working to a weekly cleaning schedule;

  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors of various types in designated areas to high standards.
  • Carpet cleaning if required
  • Sanitisation:
    • Sanitize toilets, sinks, and fixtures to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Dusting and Polishing:
    • Perform dusting and polishing tasks to uphold cleanliness and presentation standards, including high level dusting as required.
  • Empty waste bins and replace bin liners.
  • Effective recycling of waste into appropriate bins in recycling area.
  • Stock and Maintenance:
    • Stock and maintain cleaning cupboards with necessary supplies.
  • Equipment Operation:
    • Utilize cleaning machinery effectively.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Comply with all safety policies and procedures related to cleaning tasks.
    • Identify and report safety equipment maintenance issues to the Team Leader.
    • Report site safety and general site maintenance issues to appropriate site contact.
  • Task Completion:
    • Complete tasks on time with minimal supervision, working to deadlines as per cleaning schedule.
    • Complete adhoc and/or reactive cleaning as requested
  • Location-specific Tasks:
    • Undertake additional cleaning tasks as required based on the specific location.

Essential Requirements for the Role:

  • A can-do attitude with the willingness to learn new skills.
  • Physically fit for walking, bending, etc within an industrial environment.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Good (spoken) level of English language.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
