Job summary

Mitie is recruiting a Cleaning Operative to maintain a clean, safe environment at Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre in Oxford. You will perform cleaning across toilets, showers and communal areas, following COSHH and site procedures. The role suits reliable individuals who can work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Desirable prior cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of cleaning across designated areas in line with schedules and site requirements.
• Clean toilets, showers, fixtures, fittings and communal areas to maintain hygiene.
• Safely use, transport and store cleaning equipment in COSHH-compliant manner.
• Inspect cleaning equipment and ensure it remains serviceable and ready for use.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or stock shortages; assist with safe cleaning of body fluids when required.

Role Responsibilities:

• -Deliver high standards of cleaning across designated areas in line with cleaning schedules and site requirements.
• -Clean toilets, showers, fixtures, fittings, and communal areas to maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• -Safely use, handle, transport, and store cleaning equipment and materials in accordance with COSHH regulations and Mitie procedures.
• -Inspect cleaning equipment, ensuring it remains serviceable and ready for use at all times.
• -Identify and report maintenance issues, stock shortages, and, where required, undertake the safe cleaning of body fluids in accordance with approved procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• -Previous cleaning experience is desirable.
• -Ability to work effectively within a secure detention environment around residents.
• -Good understanding of health and safety practices, including COSHH requirements.
• -Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• -Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
