Job description

We are looking for a motivated Cleaning Operative to join our team, working alongside a driver on a dustcart. This role involves assisting with waste collection, loading the dustcart, and ensuring rounds are completed in a timely manner.

Usual working hours are Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm. Flexibility in working hours is required to ensure all collections are completed, even if it means working beyond the scheduled 2pm finish time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside a dustcart driver to collect waste from designated areas.
• Load waste onto the dustcart efficiently and safely.
• Assist the driver in navigation or other tasks as needed.
• Ensure rounds are completed within set timeframes.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the working day.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working on a dustcart or in a similar role is desirable.
• Ability to work well in a small, close-knit team of drivers and loaders.
• Flexibility to work beyond the normal shift hours if needed, as well as on weekends and overtime.
• Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
• Driver assistance skills are a plus; however, training will be provided if necessary.
• Candidates must pass pre-employment checks before starting.
