Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our team.

This is a permanent part-time position working 25 hours per week from 09:00 to 14:00, Monday to Friday. The salary is £16,437.52 per annum.

This role involves cleaning designated areas of our student accommodation, including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens, and all white goods contained in the kitchens.

Responsibilities include:

1. Vacuuming, spot cleaning, and shampooing carpets; sweeping and polishing floors; cleaning stairs
2. Washing walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
3. Emptying waste bins and removing rubbish from flats to bin store areas
4. During the summer season only: Making beds, including stripping and changing sheets, collecting laundered linen from store, and packing laundry for collection
5. Cleaning internal and external windows, where applicable
6. Cleaning and washing glasses, cutlery, and cooking utensils as appropriate
7. Daily liaison with residents, Residence Managers, and UPP staff
8. Acting in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times

We are looking for candidates with experience in cleaning similar environments, excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for doing an excellent job.

You should have a good conversational level of English and the ability to read and interpret Health & Safety guidance. Flexibility to work at other sites with notice and additional hours during peak times, such as student arrival and departure weekends, is required. Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, including employment references covering the past three years, and possibly additional checks such as a basic DBS.
