Job summary

A local railway operation is seeking an Office Cleaner to maintain cleanliness at Pickering Station. The role involves working weekdays from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, ensuring public areas are clean and checked regularly. Ideal candidates are friendly, hardworking, and possess attention to detail. Training for Personal Track Safety is required along with optional certifications. Salary is £12.60 per hour with benefits including 22 days leave and free travel on NYMR.

Station, Office Cleaner.

Pickering Station

Hourly rate £12.60.

Seasonal position - 3rd January 2026 MONDAY to FRIDAY 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

Jobs include:

Keeping the station clean and locking up after the last train, approximate finish time 7.30/8pm (depending on arrival of last train)
All public areas regularly checked for cleanliness & stock levels.

Person Specification;

Essential

Experience of manual work or of domestic cleaning
Ability to carry out manual tasks often outdoors.
Be friendly, hardworking and trustworthy with an approachable personality
Self motivated with the ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
Good standard of attention to detail.
Personal Track Safety (PTS) and other mandatory training must be passed as soon as post begins.

Desirable

NVQ2 or CITB L2 Cleaning and Support Services.
Experience in a fast paced commercial cleaning role
Trained in Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
First Aid at Work Certificate
