Job summary

EMCOR UK is seeking a reliable cleaner for our Barrow-in-Furness site. You will perform cleaning duties to required standards, ensuring safety and efficiency across shifts, with a Monday–Friday 6:00–14:30 schedule and permanent full-time contract.

Experience in workplace cleaning is preferred, alongside good time-keeping and a methodical, customer-focused approach. English language skills are essential for safe operation and clear communication on site.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning tasks to required standards and prioritise workload.
• Report any repairs noticed during cleaning duties.
• Respond promptly to service shortfalls.
• Perform daily maintenance on machinery as trained.
• Keep cleaning stores stocked and request replenishments when needed.
• Attend training as required.
• Use chemicals and equipment as trained.
• Liaise with customers professionally and escalate issues to ensure resolution.
• Maintain safety and report health and safety risks.
• Keep equipment and storage areas clean and organised.

What You’ll Do:

• Carry out cleaning tasks to ensure the agreed standards and ensure workload is prioritised and completed.
• Ensure any repairs noticed during cleaning duties are reported.
• Ensure a timely response to any service shortfalls identified.
• Conduct all necessary daily maintenance on machinery (as trained) and report any issues.
• Carry out additional or special cleans as instructed.
• Ensure adequate stocks of consumables are available in nominated cleaning stores and where necessary requests for replenishments are submitted.
• Attend and complete training as required.
• Use chemicals and equipment as trained.
• Liaise with customers and clients in a professional manner, escalating as required to ensure resolution.
• To always work safely, raising any health and safety risks or hazards.
• Good housekeeping of equipment and consumables and storage areas.
