Job Title: Cleaning Operative

Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour

Contract Type: Full Time

Type of Employment: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Mon-Thurs (14:00-22:00), Friday (12:00-20:00)

Location: GSK, Harmire Road, Barnard Castle, County Durham, England, DL12 8DT

Job Objectives and Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning and servicing designated areas to the standards required by the client and Mitie, efficiently and professionally.

Main Duties

• Perform cleaning duties as requested by your Team Leader or management.
• Ensure all tasks are completed professionally, following safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Wear the specified PPE at all times.
• Comply with all health and safety and security regulations of GSK and Mitie.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, work performance, and appearance.
• Update GSK myLearning and complete tasks within the designated time frames.
• Report incidents, accidents, damages, or irregularities promptly.
• Undertake required training related to cleaning services.
• Complete scheduled cleaning tasks as directed.
• Adhere to COSHH requirements and report any faults in cleaning machinery or equipment.
• Report building defects to the Mitie Helpdesk.
• Follow reasonable requests from your Team Leader or Deputy.
• Report near misses and follow absence reporting procedures when sick.

Person Specification

• Previous cleaning experience is preferable.
• Good team player with a flexible approach and willingness to cover other areas if needed.
• Proficient in English to understand instructions, safety signs, SOPs, and safety training.
