Job description

We are seeking to fill the following cleaning vacancy in Chepstow School. Duties will include ensuring that the building is maintained to a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.

Responsibilities
  • Wash floors and walls, sweep, vacuum, dust and empty litter bins.
  • Clean sanitary areas.
  • Operate vacuum cleaners and polishing/scrubbing machines safely.
  • Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials.
  • Report faults of cleaning equipment to the supervisor.
  • Apply chemicals correctly at all times.
  • Work as a member of Monmouthshire's Facilities Unit at any site.
  • Undertake necessary training for the post.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Previous cleaning/hygiene experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.
  • Flexibility and versatility to work under pressure.
  • Team‑working skills.
  • Commitment to safety of self and others.
  • Willingness to follow Monmouthshire Facilities Unit procedures, policies and health & safety procedures.
  • Willingness to undertake equality awareness training and abide by the council’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Willingness to undertake training appropriate to the post when required.
  • Welsh language desirable; staff Welsh language training may be offered if needed.
