Job summary

De La Rue plc in Loughton, Essex, invites applications for a Cleaning Assistant to maintain a safe, clean production floor and employee areas. You will handle cleaning tasks, waste removal, portering and related duties, reporting to the Facilities & Utilities Supervisor.

The role offers a permanent contract, day shifts from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with a base salary of £25,107 per annum. Experience in a manufacturing environment and good HS awareness are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transporting waste material to designated collection points.

• Emptying waste bins and managing recycling.
• Identify and report fixtures, H&S near-misses/risks/hazards.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop floors.
• Dusting and cleaning furniture, ledges and surfaces.
• Use of cleaning chemicals following training.
• Maintain cleaning stock levels and flag low stock.

Reporting to the Facilities & Utilities Supervisor, you will ensure the production floor and employee areas are safe, clean and well-maintained. You will be responsible for cleaning of different areas, waste removal trucking, portering and other duties.

The Vacancy

We have an opportunity for a Cleaning Assistant to join our team at our site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Facilities & Utilities Supervisor, you will ensure the production floor and employee areas are safe, clean and well-maintained. You will be responsible for cleaning of different areas, waste removal trucking, portering and other duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Transporting waste material to designated collection points


• Replenishing consumable items (soap, rolls, paper towels) when required


• Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, including collating and organizing recycling


• Identifying and reporting required fixtures, along with H&S near-misses/risks/hazards


• Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors


• Dusting, damp wiping, washing or polishing the furniture, ledges, windowsills and external surfaces of cupboards, shelves and fitments


• Using chemical agents in the discharge of cleaning operation or maintenance procedures (after receiving proper instruction and training)


• Maintain cleaning stock levels and inform the appropriate people of low stock levels (eg. cleaning products)


• Carry out routine administrative tasks required from time-to-time eg. checking off cleaning tasks on daily cleaning specification sheets

Working hours: Day shift pattern - Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm

Basic Salary: £25,107 per annum
