Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school, with over 200 staff and approximately 1,800 students, is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to join its team, working 20 hours per week.

The role involves working 20 hours per week, 42 weeks per year, Monday to Friday from 15:30 to 19:30. Flexibility in hours can be discussed during the application process. This is a term-time cleaning role with some deep cleaning during school holidays.

Responsibilities:

1. Carry out cleaning duties in allocated areas to the required standards and within the allocated time.
2. Clean all surfaces, fixtures, and fittings using appropriate methods.
3. Maintain cleanliness of all floor surfaces, using machinery if necessary.
4. Collect and bag waste for disposal.
5. Ensure windows are closed and lights are turned off before leaving an area.
6. Use materials and equipment safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
7. Clean equipment before returning it to stores.
8. Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, safeguarding your own safety and that of others.

Candidate Requirements:

• Commitment to completing relevant training.
• Experience as a cleaner, housekeeper, or similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning systems and basic COSHH awareness.
• High standards of work.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training courses.
