Thorn Baker is working in collaboration with an established Facilities Management company, with an area based in the Bristol Area.

We are looking to resource a Cleaning Area Manager to effectively manage and monitor high-end retail sites.

Our client is seeking someone who is currently performing a similar role or is ready to take the next step up from being a cleaning supervisor. A background working in the retail sector is essential.

This position offers the opportunity to join a business that promotes growth and internal progression. It is a role where you can manage several sites without feeling overwhelmed. You will be part of a team that listens and encourages autonomy within the role.

The main duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that work is undertaken in line with company policies, procedures, and current legislation.
  • Maintaining contract retention targets and ensuring they are met consistently.
  • Following all aspects of Health and Safety at all times and ensuring quarterly H&S audits are carried out along with monthly cleaning inspections.
  • Managing recruitment and selection of employees.
  • Effectively training and developing employees and being responsible for their onboarding process.
  • Managing and motivating a competent and driven workforce.
  • Controlling overheads and operational costs to ensure profitability.
  • Implementing cost-saving initiatives where applicable.
  • Planning, managing, and organizing the operational activities of the account and overseeing work scheduling.
  • Ensuring the account is adequately staffed at all times and services are properly supervised.
  • Completing performance reviews for employees.
  • Ensuring that adequate equipment and materials are available at the site.
