The role demands reliability, ability to work early shifts (including 4:00 AM starts) or late finishes, and a 5-year checkable history with Basic DBS for airside security clearance; full training and uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• Background check: must provide a full 5-year history and Basic DBS for airside Security clearance.
• Reliability: ability to commute to the airport for early starts (e.g., 4:00 AM) or late finishes; shift flexibility is essential.
• Communication: good level of spoken English to communicate with team and passengers.
• Physical fitness: able to stand and perform manual cleaning tasks for long shifts.
• Attitude: can-do approach, work independently or in a large team.

Responsibilities

• Terminal maintenance: clean high-traffic areas including departure lounges, check-in desks, and arrival halls.
• Washroom hygiene: clean, disinfect and restock washrooms during shifts.
• Waste management: empty bins, recycle properly, keep floors free of litter and spillages.
• Specialist cleaning: operate industrial cleaning equipment (training provided).
• Security awareness: report unattended baggage or suspicious activity to Airport Security.

Salary: £17.50 – £24.50 per hour (Shift premiums for nights/weekends)

This role is fast-paced and essential to the 24/7 operation of London's busiest travel hubs.

Key Responsibilities

• Terminal Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining high-traffic areas including departure lounges, check-in desks, and arrival halls.
• Washroom Hygiene: Ensuring all restroom facilities are cleaned, disinfected, and restocked to a high standard throughout the shift.
• Waste Management: Emptying bins, recycling properly, and ensuring floors are free of litter and spillages.
• Specialist Cleaning: Operating industrial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners (training provided).
• Security Awareness: Remaining vigilant and reporting any unattended baggage or suspicious activity to Airport Security immediately.
• Customer Service: Providing friendly assistance to passengers who may have questions about directions or facilities.

Requirements & Skills

• Background Check: You must be able to provide a full 5-year checkable work/education history and undergo a Basic DBS check for airside security clearance.
• Reliability: Ability to commute to the airport for early starts (e.g., 4:00 AM) or late finishes; flexibility with shift patterns is essential.
