Job summary

Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a cleaner to join the Whitmore High School site, covering cleaning duties in a structured term-time program. The role involves assisting in building cleaning, covering absences, and occasional training support for the team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working within the cleaning industry or a cleaning related discipline/environment.
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to converse with members of the public and client officers.
• Be prepared to work irregular hours.
• Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.

About The Role

Pay Details

Grade 1, SP3 £25,949 pro Rata, £13.45 ph

Hours of Work / Working Pattern

Monday to Friday.

Term time

10 hrs/week (38 weeks).

Recess

10 hrs/week (5 weeks).

About You

You will need

• Previous experience of working within the cleaning industry or a cleaning related discipline/environment
• Basic understanding of the various cleaning tasks required to provide an efficient and effective premises Cleaning Service
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to converse with members of the public and client officers.
• Be physically able to carry out manual and active labouring duties.
• Must be able to work on own initiative and undertake duties in an effective manner
• Positive and self-motivated with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changes in priorities and demands.
• Be prepared to work irregular hours.
• Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
