A local educational institution in Rotherham is seeking a Cleaner to maintain a clean and safe environment for learners and staff. Responsibilities include performing general cleaning operations, operating cleaning machines, and ensuring facilities are ready for use daily. Candidates should have some cleaning experience and be flexible in response to changing demands. Attractive benefits include 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and access to various facilities.
The successful candidate will undertake general cleaning duties in allocated areas of the college, providing a clean, welcoming safe environment for learners, employees and visitors. This includes general cleaning operations (inside and outside), multi-surface cleaning, the use of cleaning machines as trained and directed, and ensuring buildings are ready for use each day while incorporating the safe usage of cleaning products and equipment. You will inform the wider Estates Team of any faults that could pose a health and safety risk so they can be reported and resolved. Seasonal or ad-hoc deep cleaning and sanitising duties may be undertaken as directed. Outside duties will include sweeping and litter picking, with the focus on generally keeping the outside area clean and tidy. Employment will be through Rotherham Education Services.
• Perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas, including inside and outside spaces. • Operate a range of cleaning machines and cleaning products in accordance with training and instructions. • Ensure buildings are ready for use each day and report faults to the Estates Team as needed. • Undertake seasonal/deep cleaning and sanitising tasks as directed. • Maintain outdoor areas, including sweeping and litter picking.
• Reasonable cleaning experience, ideally in an office environment, with the ability to use a range of cleaning equipment and substances. • Hold or be willing to work towards Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE A–C/4–9 or equivalent). • Emergency First Aid at Work. • Highly flexible and able to respond to quick changes in demand, including urgent jobs and supporting colleagues across the Estates/Facilities team.
Working as part of the Cleaning team, you will work with colleagues under the direction of the wider Estates team to ensure that all cleaning duties are completed and that RNN Group buildings are maintained to a high standard. You will report to the Cleaning Supervisor.
