Job summary

Hanover Housing Association Ltd in Glasgow is seeking a part-time Cleaner to maintain cleanliness across communal areas and development accommodation. This role covers offices, kitchens, lounges and guest bedrooms, with a weekly 15-hour schedule on a rota basis.

You will follow cleaning procedures, sanitise surfaces, manage waste and assist with kitchen duties, while supporting infection control and Health and Safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate empathy in supporting residents and independence.
  • Flexibility to work 15 hours per week on a rota basis.
  • Ability to follow established cleaning procedures and schedules.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Clean communal areas: offices, corridors, kitchens, lounge and staff spaces.
  • Clean development accommodation including bath, toilet and shower areas.
  • Sanitise surfaces, furniture and equipment as per rota.
  • Remove waste and prepare guest bedrooms for arrivals.
  • Follow infection prevention control, COSHH, Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning duties and dishwashing.

Working Hours: 15 hours per week

Remuneration:£13.45 per hour

This role will involve working 15 hours over 5 days on a rota basis.

About the Role

As the Cleaner for our development, you will support:

  • Cleaning of communal areas i.e. offices, corridors, kitchens, lounge, communal employee spaces.
  • Cleaning of development accommodation, bath, toilet, and shower areas.
  • Sanitising of surfaces, furniture and office equipment as required by rota.
  • Removal of waste and preparation of guest bedrooms.
  • Working in accordance with infection prevention control, COSSHH, Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Assisting with kitchen cleaning duties and the dishes.
About You:
Essential

  • Have a genuine passion for helping people and supporting independent living.
  • Have demonstrable experience of empathising with and caring for the elderly.
  • Have a flexible approach to work with a can-do attitude.
  • Be able to follow cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clear written presentation.
Desirable
  • You will also need basic digital and ICT skills so that you can access e-learning programs as well as our portals.
  • Kitchen Hygiene certificate.
