A newly established school in Lichfield is seeking a Cleaner/Janitor to maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the facility. The role involves cleaning various areas, securing the building at the end of shifts, and working under senior staff direction. This position offers a part-time contract of 5 hours a week, with a starting salary of £3,043 p.a. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and contribute to the growth of the school.

Overview

Cleaner/ Janitor

Salary: Grade 2 SCP 3 £24,796 p.a. Actual Salary £3,043 p.a. dependent on years’ service

Hours of work: initially 5 hours a week Monday to Friday (evenings exact time to be discussed at interview)

Contract: permanent / term time plus (38 weeks when the pupils are in school, plus 5 inset days and 10 additional days in the school holidays).

Responsible to: Headteacher

We are looking to appoint a Cleaner who has a real sense of pride and will ensure that our fantastic facility is kept clean and hygienic. This is an exciting time to join the team while we prepare to open our school to pupils.

Working under the direction of senior staff the role is responsible for the cleaning of classrooms, offices, toilets and communal areas ensuring the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery. In addition there would be the requirement for the postholder to secure the building at the end of their shift.
