The Catering & Facilities Management Service are looking to employ a Cleaner in Charge at Halam C of E to further enhance the cleaning standards within the site from August 2025. You will be required to work 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Ideally the hours will be worked between 5.30am to 8.30am and 3.45pm to 5.45pm. However there is a degree of flexibility as to when those hours are worked. It is a split shift for which an allowance will be paid and there are 3 weeks allocated for the deep clean which is undertaken during the school holidays.

You should enjoy working in a busy environment, and be able to communicate at all levels. Experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be given. Duties will include: opening of the site; vacuuming; washroom cleaning; sweeping; mopping; dusting; washing of furniture and window cleaning (plus occasional use of electrical cleaning machinery i.e. buffing machine and wet pick-up).

You will play a vital role as part of the small team at Halam C of E School in this quiet, rural, village location. This post is predominately one where you will be expected to work using your own initiative, and you will be expected to programme your daily routine to meet the needs of the site. Protective clothing and other PPE will be provided as required.
