Job description

Position: Cleaner/Housekeeper - Care Home

Job Purpose:
To undertake cleaning of the Care Home as directed to ensure the home is kept in a clean and hygienic condition in order to provide a professional and homely environment to service users and staff at the premises.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To clean communal areas, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen and associated areas as per outlined standards.
  • To dispose of refuse.
  • To maintain cleanliness of communal areas and contents.
  • To ensure the surrounding ground of the Care Home is cleaned and hazards free.
  • To report maintenance issues as per procedures.
  • To clean kitchen including surfaces, large and small equipment, including microwave and other ovens, fridges and freezers; to dispose of refuse.
  • Deep Cleaning Rooms and other areas as per the scheduled cleaning plan
  • To comply with COSHH, Moving and Handling and Infection Control Regulations
  • To work within the relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • To participate in the Annual Performance Development Review Process and ongoing Training.
