Job description
Overview

There is an exciting opportunity for a Part time Cleaner to support our services at Yeatman Hospital.

This post is 15 hours per week, and you will be covering clinical areas out of hours cleaning. Times are 5am to 8pm.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for achieving a high standard of cleanliness in a clinical ward based environment and also non-clinical areas throughout the main hospital, ensuring that a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.
  • Support the Facilities Supervisor in their role and to ensure that the standard of cleanliness within the Trust is implemented and maintained.
  • Main duties will include vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning/damp dusting, cleaning bathrooms, toilets, emptying bins, and the use of mechanical floor cleaning machines.
  • This role involves working as a team, with a flexible approach, good communication skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
  • All vacancies offer an opportunity to work extra hours as able to cover sickness and staff holidays.
Employment terms and training
  • Full on-site training is provided and PPE provision is included.
  • This post is part of the Facilities and Estates which Dorset Healthcare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary within the next 6–12 months. The NHS wholly owned subsidiary will continue to offer NHS Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, including NHS pensions, to transferring staff and new employees recruited after the transfer date in 2026.

  • Employment requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
