Overview

Royal Mail P&FS are recruiting for a Cleaner/Coordinator at Preston Mail Centre, Fulwood, Preston, PR2 9GG

Job Reference Number: 328840

Pay: £12.21 per hour (additional £4.06 per hour when working night shift) plus £125 per month coordinator allowance

Benefits: 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years' service, plus bank holidays, uniform, PPE, employee referral scheme and Defined Contribution pension scheme plus car parking.

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is a cover role so you could work 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm or 10pm to 6am.

About the Role

As part of Royal Mail Property & Facilities Solutions you will work either as part of a team or as the only cleaner on site, ensuring we continue to deliver the high standards of service our customers expect.

Role responsibilities: In this role you will have dual responsibilities.

Cleaner - responsible for a variety of tasks including mopping, toilet cleaning, washing walls, vacuuming, emptying bins, dusting and sanitising surfaces safely and professionally to a high standard.

We require someone who can operate a variety of cleaning equipment – full training is provided with a first day induction. This role will be physically challenging and involves manual handling activities.

Cleaner Coordinator - The Coordinator part requires you to oversee a team of cleaning operatives on a single site, whilst supporting the Soft Service Manager with the achievement of efficient day-to-day operations and develop a positive workplace culture. In this varied role, you'll allocate daily tasks to the cleaning team, manage material use and stock control, conduct quality checks ensuring health and safety policies are followed and monitor the team's attendance, schedule, and overtime. You'll be involved with HR matters for example conducting return to work interviews, support the SSM with the recruitment and training of cleaning operatives and play a key role in resolving operational problems.

Flexibility is key as you'll be happy to continue to complete the Cleaning Operative duties alongside the additional Cleaning Co-ordinator responsibilities.

About You

You should have a combination of cleaning and administrative experience. The ideal candidate will be reliable, self-motivated with a keen eye for detail. You'll be able to work on your own initiative, organising your own time, as you'll be managed remotely.
