Job summary

Rosedene Nurseries Ltd in England is seeking a Nursery Housekeeper to support the smooth running of the nursery by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the setting.

You will handle laundry, kitchen and mealtime support, baby care equipment cleaning and general cleaning tasks, ensuring a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children, families and staff. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with a flexible, team-oriented approach expected.

Responsibilities

• Washing nursery laundry including bedding, cloths, towels and bibs
• Rinsing pots, plates and utensils after breakfast and tea times; loading/unloading the dishwasher
• Cleaning and sanitising meal areas after all meals; cleaning highchairs, tables and chairs
• Preparing, heating and dishing up tea and delivering meals to rooms as required
• Milton sterilising baby bottles and making bottles as required
• Cleaning throughout the nursery during the day and keeping shared spaces clean
• Carrying out general cleaning tasks to maintain nursery standards
• Putting away deliveries and taking bins out; keeping waste areas clean

Kitchen & Mealtime Support

Essential

To support the smooth running of the nursery by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygieneand organisation throughout the setting. The Nursery Housekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safeand welcoming environment for children, familiesand staff, particularly during busy parts of the day when room staff are focused on ratios and care.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry & Washing

• Washing nursery laundry including bedding, cloths, towels and bibs
• Sorting, folding and putting away clean laundry appropriately

Kitchen & Mealtime Support

• Rinsing pots, plates and utensils after breakfast and tea times
• Loading and unloading the dishwasher
• Cleaning and sanitising meal areas after all meals
• Thoroughly cleaning highchairs, tables, chairs and surrounding areas after mealtimes
• Preparing, heating and dishing up tea and delivering meals to rooms as required

Baby Care Equipment

• Milton sterilising all baby bottles and drink bottles
• Making bottles as required, following nursery procedures

General Cleaning & Hygiene

• Cleaning throughout the nursery during the day, including after messy play and activities
• Supporting room teams by keeping shared spaces clean when staff are required in ratios
• Keeping entrances, corridors and communal areas clean, tidy and safe at all times
• Cleaning down outdoor play equipment regularly
• Carrying out general cleaning tasks as needed to maintain nursery standards

Stock, Deliveries & Waste

• Putting away deliveries (including food shopping and Gompels supplies) correctly and safely
• Taking bins out during the day and ensuring waste areas are kept clean and organised

Health, Safety & Safeguarding

• Following all hygiene, food safety and infection control procedures
• Using cleaning products safely and in line with COSHH guidance
• Maintaining awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and nursery policies at all times

Essential

Desirable

• Previous experience in a nursery, school, care or similar environment
• Basic food hygiene awareness (training can be provided)
