Job summary

Kindred is seeking a reliable cleaner in the South Oxhey area to join our educational-building cleaning team in the Watford area. The role involves dusting, vacuuming, sanitising, waste disposal, and replenishing supplies while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Training on COSHH and safety procedures will be provided, with DBS checks required for successful candidates. Shifts are fixed with variable days/hours, and the role is based on-site at The Mead, Watford WD19

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.

Job description

As a cleaner with Kindred, you will play an important role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and service users.

Your duties will include:

General Cleaning Tasks:

• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, touchpoints, and furniture.
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
• Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.

Specialist & Deep Cleaning:

• Carrying out periodic deep-cleaning tasks (e.g., carpet cleaning, polishing floors).
• Using appropriate cleaning materials for different surfaces to maintain standards and protect equipment.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

• Using cleaning equipment safely (e.g., buffers, steamers, vacuums), ensuring proper storage after use.
• Following health & safety regulations, including safe use of cleaning chemicals (COSHH).
• Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly.

Teamwork & Independence:

• Working independently to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
• Supporting colleagues as needed to ensure high overall cleanliness standards.

Customer Care & Presentation:

• Ensuring cleaning standards reflect Kindred's commitment to a professional, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
• Being polite and respectful when working in areas where staff, clients, or visitors are present.
