You will operate cleaning equipment, ensure hygiene standards, and report maintenance issues. Training and health and safety compliance are required.

We are currently recruiting for a cleaner for our client based in Pontypridd.

As a School Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across designated areas of the school. Each cleaner will be allocated a specific area to clean on a daily basis, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities for Cleaner

• Clean and sanitise designated areas, including classrooms, corridors, toilets, staff rooms, school halls, offices, communal areas, indoor sports facilities, and changing rooms.
• Thoroughly clean and disinfect toilet facilities, including toilets, sinks, cubicles, floors, soap dispensers, hand dryers, and surrounding fixtures.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors to maintain cleanliness throughout the school.
• Dust and wipe skirting boards, window sills, desks, shelves, and other hard surfaces.
• Clean and sanitise staff kitchen areas, including sinks, worktops, floors, and furniture.
• Maintain sports halls and changing rooms by cleaning shower areas, cubicles, and associated facilities.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish safely in accordance with school procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment, including scrubber dryer machines where required, following appropriate training and health and safety procedures.
• Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed in line with hygiene, health and safety, and infection control standards.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or cleaning supply requirements to the relevant supervisor.
• Attend and complete all mandatory training provided to ensure safe and effective working practices.
