Job summary

University of the West of Scotland is seeking a part-time Cleaner to join the Campus Services team at the Paisley Campus. You will participate in the day-to-day cleaning activities to maintain clean, safe and hygienic campus facilities.

Hours: Part-Time, 15 hours per week. Monday 07:00-10:00, Tuesday to Friday 06:00-09:00. Closing Date: 08/12/2026. Interview Date: 17/12/2026. A range of benefits is provided including annual leave, pension, and wellbeing resources.

Qualifications

• Experience working within an Industrial/Commercial cleaning environment is essential.
• Basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements; further training provided.
• Ability to demonstrate working in a customer focused role with an emphasis on providing quality service.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work in a team and on your own.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the day-to-day programme of cleaning services to ensure facilities are clean, safe and hygienic.
• Carry out duties as per the cleaning schedule and standards.
• Work within a friendly and supportive team at Paisley Campus.

Job description

Working within the Campus Services directorate based at the University of the West of Scotland's Paisley Campus you will work alongside a friendly and supportive team and will participate in the day-to-day programme of cleaning services to ensure that the campus facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and hygienic condition.

Part-Time: 15 hours per week

Hours of duty are as follows:

• Monday 07.00-10.00am and Tues to Fri 06.00-09.00am

The successful candidate should have the following:

• Experience working within an Industrial/Commercial cleaning environment is essential
• You must possess a basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a workplace; further training will be provided.
• Ability to demonstrate working in a customer focused role with an emphasis on providing quality service
• Demonstrate good customer service skills. Proficient in both written and spoken English - sufficient to meeting the communication and training requirements for the role.
• Ability to work in a team and on your own.
