If you have an eye for attention to detail and enjoy general cleaning, you could be perfect for this career. Join one of our many teams of cleaners in Schools in Lochgelly. We currently have permanent vacancies at a Primary School covering as required on a backshift, Monday to Friday only.

Location and Vacancies

Lochgelly

Lochgelly West Primary School (2 posts) – 15 hours per week, 40-week contract (3 hours per day as required between 3:00pm – 6:00pm). These posts are due to commence in January 2026.

Salary and Benefits
  • Competitive salary of £24,740.74 pro rata.
  • Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £13.18 per hour for this post, plus extra payments for shift work (including weekends).
  • Pay is annualised for 40-week contracts (equal instalments every 4-week pay period).

What You’ll Do

This work is about ensuring pupils and staff can return to a clean and safe environment every school day. You will go home each day knowing you have made a difference. No previous experience is required as on-the-job training is provided, working towards The Cleaning Operatives Proficiency Certificate.

The Person

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. You will also be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.
