Job summary

Kindred are seeking diligent cleaners for an educational building in Leighton Buzzard. The role requires DBS disclosure and offers £12.71 per hour, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 15:30-17:30.

You will perform general and deep cleaning, maintain COSHH compliance, and work independently while supporting team standards. The site requires reliable, physically able candidates who can follow instructions and meet fixed shift timings.

Qualifications

• Able to complete the physical demands of the role with reasonable adjustments.
• To be able to follow instructions (including written) and work safely for periods of time on their own.
• Complete tasks within a specified timeframe.
• An ability to communicate in English, although English as a first language is not a requirement.
• Able to fulfil the shift patterns because the timings of the role would be fixed.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, touchpoints, and furniture.
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
• Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
• Carrying out periodic deep-cleaning tasks (carpet cleaning, polishing floors).
• Using appropriate cleaning materials for different surfaces to maintain standards and protect equipment.
• Using cleaning equipment safely (buffers, steamer, vacuums), ensuring proper storage after use.
• Following health & safety regulations, including safe use of cleaning chemicals (COSHH).
• Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly.
• Working independently to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.

• Location: Gilbert Inglefield School House, Gilbert Inglefield Academy, Vandyke Road, Vandyke Rd, Leighton Buzzard LU7 3FU

• Requirements: Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

About the role

Responsibilities:

General Cleaning Tasks:

• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
