Job summary

Chesterfield Borough Council is seeking flexible, reliable cleaners for the Building Cleaning Team. The role is part-time, permanent, 12.5 hours per week, with duties across various locations in Chesterfield and surrounding sites.

You will perform hand-sweeping, mopping stairs, cleaning windows, using floor buffers, scrubbing tiles, emptying bins, replenishing supplies, vacuuming, and dusting. Applicants must have the right to work and be willing to work weekends.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess the necessary right to work authorisation; sponsorship or visa support cannot be provided.
• You will need to be flexible and comfortable adapting to change as locations and day-to-day tasks vary regularly.

Responsibilities

• hand-sweeping and mopping stairs
• cleaning windows and large areas of plate glass
• using specialist cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers
• scrubbing tiles and floors in changing areas
• emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly
• replenishing supplies, including hand soap and paper towels
• vacuuming large floor areas
• Dusting skirting boards, door frames and office furniture

Job description

We will help you maintain a variety of locations both within and outside the borough of Chesterfield. These include public toilets, park pavilions, office buildings, communal areas in housing complexes, and void and tenanted housing properties.
