Job summary

Squire's Garden Centres in Chertsey is seeking a cleaner to help ensure our centre and restaurant provide customers with a spotless, welcoming shopping experience.

The role is line managed by the Garden Centre Manager with shifts: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 08:00–09:30 and alternate weekends Saturday & Sunday 08:00–09:30. Duties include shopfloor and toilet cleaning, replenishing supplies, and COSHH health and safety adherence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleanliness of the centre, including Garden Centre and Restaurant areas.
• Clean shopfloor, toilets, staffrooms and offices; hoover, sweep and mop floors.
• Dust, polish surfaces and replenish handwash and toilet supplies.
• Clear rubbish, remove cobwebs and ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
• Manage cleaning materials stock and keep equipment tidy and maintained.

We currently have a vacancy for a cleaner within our centre. This role is very important to the successful running of the centre, ensuring our customers have the best possible shopping experience.

You will be line managed by the Garden Centre Manager.

Rota: Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 08:00 - 09:30, and alternate weekends Saturday & Sunday 08:00 - 09:30

Main duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the centre in both the Garden Centre and the Restaurant, including, but not limited to:

• Areas to clean include shopfloor, toilets, staffrooms and offices.
• Hoovering/sweeping and mopping tiled and carpeted floor areas.
• Cleaning, dusting and polishing all surface areas.
• Replenishing handwash, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Clearing and removing rubbish and emptying bins.
• Removing cobwebs and dust.
• Understanding and adherence of health and safety procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Maintaining stock levels of cleaning material and ordering new materials as required.
• Keeping the cleaning material area clear, tidy and ensuring the equipment is clean, maintained and well looked after.
