Job summary

Sir John Leman High School in Beccles is inviting applications for a school cleaner to help maintain high cleanliness standards across the site. The role is 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3pm–5pm, term-time plus, with duties including disinfecting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing and cleaning washrooms.

You will be a reliable team player with enthusiasm and an understanding of health and safety in the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cleaning roles is desirable.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at work.
  • Ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Disinfecting surfaces and washrooms.
  • Vacuuming, mopping and polishing floors.
  • Cleaning duties across school facilities.
  • Light lifting and other cleaning tasks as required.

Job description

Established in 1632, Sir John Leman High School in Beccles is steeped in history and has produced many generations of well-educated young people. The school has a strong emphasis on values and a relentless focus on improving learning, which is driving up performance in all aspects of our school.

We are looking for a new member of staff to join our team of cleaners, ensuring the school buildings are cleaned to the highest standard.

Monday to Friday - 10 hours per week (3pm-5pm) 44 weeks per year (term-time plus)

Equipment and full training will be provided.

Duties will include disinfecting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, cleaning washrooms, light lifting and other cleaning related tasks.

You will:

  • Be a team player.
  • Have high levels of enthusiasm and motivation.
  • Have an understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
