Job summary

Great Places Housing Group is hiring an operative to support property clearances and preparation of void homes in Sheffield and High Peak. You will drive a van, work a 39-hour week, and complete end-of-tenancy tasks with care and safety at the forefront.

Applicants should have a full UK driving licence, be comfortable with physical work, and communicate effectively with customers and teams. Training and overtime opportunities are available as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Support the clearance of properties at tenancy end, including removing items and waste.
  • Clean and prepare void properties to a high standard for trade operatives.
  • Carry out mould treatment and damp prevention works as required.
  • Clear and maintain internal/external areas and gardens; dispose waste properly.
  • Maintain accurate waste disposal records per policies.
  • Treat customers’ homes with respect and work safely at all times.
  • Look after equipment; keep it clean and in good order.
  • Attend required training, toolbox talks, and e-learning modules.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues and local stakeholders.
  • Carry out work safely and leave homes clean and secure.
  • Use PDA/mobile tech to receive and manage repair jobs efficiently.
  • Produce accurate records with before/after photos and notes.

39 hours per week – 8:00am–4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am–3:30pm Friday, paid overtime opportunities available (subject to business need)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting the clearance of properties at the end of tenancies, including removal of household items and waste
  • Cleaning and preparing void properties to a high standard, ensuring they are safe and ready for trade operatives
  • Carrying out mould treatment, minor damp prevention works, and removing damaged decorations
  • Clearing and maintaining internal and external areas, including gardens, and removing waste from other trades for appropriate disposal
  • Maintaining accurate waste disposal records in line with policies and procedures
  • Treating customers’ homes with respect, working safely at all times, and reporting any concerns
  • Looking after equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in good working order
  • Attending and completing all required training, toolbox talks, and e-learning modules
  • Communicating professionally and empathetically with customers, colleagues, and local stakeholders
  • Carrying out work safely and professionally, ensuring customers’ homes are left clean and secure
  • Using PDA/mobile technology to receive, update, and manage repair jobs efficiently
  • Producing accurate records, including before-and-after photographs and detailed job notes
What You’ll Need

For the purposes of our van fleet insurance you must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with a full UK driving licence, be over the age of 21 and complete an on-line driver monitoring Assessment prior to starting your role. If you are under 21 but with 2 years driving experience with a full UK driving licence you would be required to complete an on-line driver monitoring assessment and additional in vehicle assessment prior to starting your role funded by Great Places.
