Clayton Park Bakery - Food Production Operative

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of work: Minimum 35hrs per week. 5 days over a 7 day shift

Location: Huncoat Industrial Estate, Accrington, BB5 6NT

Salary: Hourly rate dependent on experience plus weekend premium

More about the Role

Work within a multi skilled team of bakers and confectioners to manufacture our range of confectionary products.

What You Can Expect to Be Doing

• Mixing of bread dough - traditional and sour dough, and pastry production
• Working with mixers and depositors
• Set up and run machinery used for the manufacture of bakery products to set specifications
• Completing documents and records accurately
• Manufacture safe, quality food by following all relevant Health, Safety, Environment and Food Safety standards and working practices
• General housekeeping, and maintaining the cleanliness of the production areas
• Moving equipment such as trolleys and racks safely
• Adheres to site processes and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation to produce and deliver unbeatable quality products

A Few Things about You

• To be a positive and organised individual
• 1 -2 year’s experience of working within a similar role is desirable, but training can be given
• Level 2 in food safety and hygiene would be preferable, but training can be given
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• To be enthusiastic, committed and self-motivated
• Have a positive outlook and enjoy working as part of a team, leading by example
• Good written and verbal skills with a good level of numeracy
• Ability to work in a safe manner and consider the safety of others
• Willing to work a flexible shift pattern which include weekends and Bank Holidays
