Classroom Teaching Assistant

Salary: £83 - £100 per day

GSL Education are seeking a Classroom Teaching Assistant to work at a Client Secondary School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire starting as soon as opssible. If you have a desire to support students' learning journey and contribute to their personal growth, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Classroom Teaching Assistant requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a SEN setting.
• Knowledge of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Conditions, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and other learning difficulties.
• A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable.
• Be able to engage with young people and build effective relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of individual students.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students overcome barriers to learning.
• Support students with a range of special educational needs.
• Use strategies, in liaison with the relevant staff members, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
• Help manage behavior positively and consistently, using de-escalation strategies where required.
• Assist with the preparation and organization of teaching materials and resources.
• Promote independence and confidence in students.
