Job description

Role Description/Criteria

We are seeking a creative, passionate, knowledgeable, and skilled full-time PREP classroom teacher. Applicants should have the skills and abilities to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience through a collaborative approach to learning and teaching. Ideal candidates will have at least four years of experience and will develop high-quality learning and teaching programs that meet the needs of all students, based on evidence-based practices.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a commitment to the philosophy of Catholic education and the safety and wellbeing of all children.
  • Possess the qualifications, skills, and abilities necessary to provide students with a rewarding educational experience.
  • Understand inquiry-based teaching and learning, including student voice and agency.
  • Be willing to participate in extracurricular school activities.
  • Hold accreditation to teach or lead Religious Education in a Catholic School or be committed to obtaining it.
  • Hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.

Additionally, successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Commit to the Catholic Ethos, principles of Catholic teaching, and living the school’s vision.
  • Adhere to the St Margaret’s Child Safe Policy & the Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Promote contemporary and innovative teaching practices.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and maintain high expectations for students.
  • Utilize student data to inform teaching practices and drive learning.
