Elmwood School is an expanding SEMH school in the leafy suburb of Rushall in Walsall. We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to support across the curriculum and offer us that “spark” as we progress with our development towards greatness. The school has 82 mixed 11-16 year olds on roll split into three discreet areas. We offer a wide and personalised curriculum catering for a range of abilities up to and including GCSEs / IGCSEs. We are looking for an innovative person who is capable of establishing positive relationships working with young people with complex needs. You must have high expectations, flexibility, and resilience. If you are passionate about making a difference and genuinely care for pupils who are on the brink of social exclusion, then we would love to meet you.
The successful applicant will support the school’s Curriculum Leads in their collective drive and determination to maintain the positive outcomes currently achieved across all age ranges.
You will need experience in delivering lessons within a nurturing environment and the flair and creativity to deliver lessons that embody our passion for Learning Outside of The Classroom; potentially taking on responsibilities as a form tutor, as well as engaging pupils within other thematic curriculum topics on a weekly basis.
Your knowledge will further enhance the staffing team in making every day memorable for both staff and pupils.
We encourage applicants to visit our school to see for yourself the potential of our facilities. This will give you an idea of how you can develop them to continue engaging pupils while achieving successful academic outcomes, especially for those passionate about obtaining a good English qualification as a gateway to further education or employment.
If you would like to work with us, more information is available on our website, or you can contact Lynn or Dawn by email or telephone for an application pack.
We encourage potential applicants to visit prior to applying. We have two visit dates: 4pm, Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, and 4pm, Monday, June 2nd, 2025.
Please contact us to book a place.
The closing date for applications is: 1pm, Monday, June 9th, 2025
Interviews: Thursday, June 19th, 2025
We are fully committed to safeguarding, child protection, and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks.
